Genealogy is the study of your unique family history. It is a personal record of and about your ancestors -- when they were born, where they lived and went to school, who they married and what were their children's name. It's about their journey in life and where it led them... to you, their posterity.

Learning about your family history usually starts at home by talking with your parents, relatives, friends, and locating recorded information about your ancestors.You may have useful sources at home such as birth certificates, obituaries, wedding announcements, and your family Bible, etc.

The importance of this type of information helps each one of us to understand the life and times that our families have lived and sometimes struggled through, it may explain what has molded them and driven their choices.

Looking back helps us to value the hard work and sacrifices that our family have made to bring the new generation, their posterity into the world.  The word “posterity” is a refined way of saying YOU.
